Now that everyone is on the lighthouse, what are they going to do about it? The end is near as this episode made some major headway towards this goal.

Last episode explained how Fitz got to the lighthouse and this episode started with him flaunting his new alias of a vile space marauder during Kasius’ party while on the lookout for the others. The moment when he saw Simmons again was a great as he opened up to her including proposing but she didn’t hear a word of it because of Kassius’s earworm. Sensing this, Fitz convinced Kassius to disable it.

Fitz had to keep up appearances which was fun to watch. His darker side has been growing since the Framework so he put it to use here while trading jabs with the other guests at the dinner table. This managed to get attention of Kassius who began to take a liking to Fitz and getting the ire of another guest named Ponarian (Patrick Fabian).

Kassius then showed off his possessions to his guests. First, May fought Ben which Fitz convinced Kassius to stop once it looked bad for May. Instead, May was banished to the surface of the Earth where she would have to deal with the roaches. Kassius then learned about Ben’s lie to protect Daisy and Simmons so as a punishment, he had him killed.

Fitz’s quest to buy Daisy and Simmons became more difficult once Kassius’s brother Faulnak (Samuel Roukin) joined the proceedings. The second battle featured Daisy fighting Sinara until Fitz and Simmons saw an opening and escaped, killing Kassius and joining Daisy. Now free, Simmons took the opportunity to propose to Fitz which was funny after what happened earlier and he also quickly explained how he got there.

The B story involved a teen named Flint (Coy Stewart) who underwent terrigenesis along with a few other teens so Kassius would have more inhumans to sell. After undergoing the procedure, it had looked like he had disappeared but Yo-Yo actually hid him in another room. Flint’s powers hadn’t manifested yet until Grill overheard them and was about to hand them over to Kassius. To save them, Flint used what appeared to be telepathic powers to crush Grill with a large boulder. While getting help, Tess was killed for not giving up Flint’s whereabouts.

The last scene was pretty inconsequential where Enoch, posing as a Kree, took an elevator down to a lower level.

Overall, this was a good episode, despite a so-so B story, that made some major headway towards leaving the lighthouse with Fitz saving Daisy and Simmons and May on the Earth’s surface. Iain De Caestecker was great here as always as Fitz’s darker side was fun to watch, seeing him fit in nicely with the new crowd while having a few badass moments. Sure, a few new characters died but they were never going to last. The two fight scenes were fun to watch and could have gone on longer, however, the end to the Daisy fight more than made up for it. The previews for the next episode put the team together (minus May) so I can’t wait to see what they’ll do now that they are all together again.

Score: 8.5/10
