In 1820, crewmen Owen Chase, George Pollard, and Matthew Joy (Chris Hemsworth, Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy) aboard the New England vessel Essex face a harrowing battle for survival when a whale of mammoth size and strength attacks with force, crippling their ship and leaving them adrift in the ocean. Pushed to their limits and facing storms, starvation, panic and despair, the survivors must resort to the unthinkable to stay alive. Their incredible tale ultimately inspires author Herman Melville (Ben Whishaw) to write “Moby Dick.”

With the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Friday, December 18th, I thought I would take a look back at all of the previous movies from the beginning starting with the prequels and then the original trilogy. Try to ignore this, or not while watching the prequels. I’ll probably be treading through familiar territory with most people as well.
If you ever wondered how Marvel’s cinematic universe came about, I’ve posted an 11-minute featurette which recently came with Marvel’s Phase 2 collection which was released on December 8th.
I’ve thought about this all wrong when I reviewed Spectre the first time. James Bond just has a drinking problem which led to everything we’ve seen all these years. For a further explanation, please refer to the video below from The Onion:
So the trailer for the next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie just released and so far appears to be more of the same. I have to say that I like the series but I wouldn’t say that I’m a massive fan of it either. The first film, which I thought was okay, was just a bunch of cheesy dialogue (mostly from the turtles themselves), an iffy story, and some fake action. From the trailer, this edition appears to have more action and takes place mostly on the surface which is a change from the first film. This one features most of the human actors from the first film, Megan Fox as April O’Neil and Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick. New additions to this movie include Stephen Amell as Casey Jones and Laura Linney in some role that I’m not sure of yet (not too familiar with the series). Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 which has a fancy subtitle called Out of the Shadows, will be released June 3rd, 2016.
This is a continuation of what I started here. May you have many nightmares.
