Trailer Overload

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Everybody already knows about this one but here’s another trailer anyway. This one doesn’t really give much more of the story away but it sure is loaded with action. People seem to be against Superman a little more here. We also get another glimpse of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman without her costume. Some may not have been a fan of Ben Affleck’s casting as Batman (I’m still on the fence) but you can’t deny that it looks exciting. I will say this again (not that you all need reminding), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice releases March 25th, 2016.

On the next page there are some that I’m sure you probably didn’t know about (myself included).

Backgammon

This is the first of several movies I have featured here which I knew nothing about coming in. The attraction between Lucian (Noah Silver) and Miranda (Brittany Allen) grows while they are seemingly alone in a remote mansion for the weekend. Tension begins to develop as they are unsure of the whereabouts of Miranda’s ex-boyfriend Gerald (Alex Beh) who may be hiding somewhere in the house. This movie claims to be a psychological sexual thriller but that remains to be seen as the trailer here leans towards the tame side. Backgammon releases March 11th, 2016.

Jeruzalem

This is a horror movie, if you haven’t that out yet. A couple of young Americans travel to Jerusalem on vacation, a nightmare of biblical proportion befalls the city. By nightmare, I mean vampire and/or zombie-like monsters terrorizing them and the people. This looks like it would either be in the bad category or the “so bad it’s good” category. I’m leaning towards the former. This film has appeared at several film festivals and had a limited release in the US but should be available again sometime early in 2016.

Southbound

This is another horror movie. This one consists of five interlocking tales of terror follow the fates of a group of weary travellers who confront their worst nightmares and darkest secrets over one long night on a desolate stretch of desert highway. This film looks like it has just the right combination of weird and a little scary. To me this looks a little more promising than the film above. Southbound releases February 9th, 2016.

This is actually the first 7 minutes of Southbound if you are interested:

Forsaken

A welcome change of pace from the above two movies for sure. A western starring both Sutherlands, Kiefer and father Donald, is something you definitely don’t see every day. John Henry Clayton (Kiefer) is an old gunslinger who is trying to make amends with his estranged father, Rev. Clayton (Donald), while their community must combat ruthless land-grabbers. This one looks like an okay movie to me but my interest comes solely from the fact that both Sutherlands are in it, and also Demi Moore. Forsaken releases February 19th, 2016.
