I don’t think I would be alone in saying that school sometimes wasn’t easy for me. There have been many movies about schools. I can’t think of any movie that has accurately depicted what school is actually like since most films tend to glamorize it in such a way that it never seems realistic. This film doesn’t really speak to whether school is actually good or not but rather one where the audience (probably younger people since they will be the majority who will watch this) can rally behind a young hero against a cruel and out-of-touch principal (or whatever). This is not really that original of a concept movie-wise but the book in which this is based is apparently popular (at least that’s what the trailer says). I’ll probably only care about this because I’m a fan of Andy Daly who plays the evil principal. Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life releases October 7th, 2016.
