When I see a movie featuring Nicole Kidman, Jason Bateman, and Christopher Walken and is also directed by Jason Bateman, it is pretty easy to get my attention. Of course when it comes to most movies based on books, I haven’t heard of this book, also called The Family Fang by Kevin Wilson. The story here is about a brother and sister named Annie and Baxter Fang (Kidman and Bateman) who return to their family home in search of their world famous parents, Caleb and Camille Fang (Walken and Maryann Plunkett) who have disappeared. The trailer here just oozes family dysfunction and general quirkiness, in the vein of The Royal Tenenbaums. The chemistry between Kidman and Bateman doesn’t hurt either. The Family Fang releases May 6th, 2016.
