Cell
Everyone’s heard of the adage that cell phones turn people into zombies but what if that came true. Surprisingly enough, it only took Stephen King to write a book about it back in 2006, also called “Cell”. This film should stay true to the source material as King co-wrote the script. Since I haven’t read the book, I am not exactly sure why people became like this in the first place but I am interested in figuring that out. I would have never imagined that that was all it took for society as we know it to crumble. With a cast including John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson, ir should be a fun ride. Cell releases July 8th, 2016.
Snowden
Now everyone kind of already knows this story too and there is plenty of information out there about that. It was just inevitable that a movie would be made about it and now it has. I could not have imagined anyone better to handle this subject matter than Oliver Stone. This seemingly fits right in with all of his other political thrillers. I will say that I never knew much about Snowden himself but I guess it would be kind of interesting to sort of learn what happened before the NSA. When I heard that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was cast as Snowden, I was okay with it as he looks the part. After watching the trailer, I’m a little worried as I found his accent here a little annoying. Maybe it will grown on me. Snowden releases September 16th, 2016.
