Sully

Another movie on my list of most anticipated films of 2016. It has Tom Hanks in it so why shouldn’t it be? To be fair, Inferno isn’t on that list only because my expectations are not as high as they are for this one. A lot of people know about Captain Chesley Sullenberger who landed a plane along the Hudson river but I didn’t know more than what I saw on the news. On the surface, it doesn’t seem like movie material but I’m curious of where Hanks and director Clint Eastwood take all of this. Aaron Eckhart and Laura Linney definitely don’t hurt. Sully releases September 9th, 2016.

Why Him?

Cranston vs. Franco, sign me up. Absolutely nothing about this movie is new or original in any way but there’s just something about these two actors that kind of make it interesting. Since I’m so used to seeing Cranston in dramas, it’s nice to see him in a comedy. The only problem is here is if I can’t get over all the obvious cliches here. James Franco’s character is really obnoxious, perhaps too obnoxious, and I’m afraid that it won’t be funny. If Cranston goes crazy with the role, like he did with Malcolm in the Middle, it may well be. It’s also a coincidence that this is the second year in a row with a Christmas day comedy featuring a battle between two very different people. If you haven’t figured it out, Why Him? releases christmas day.

Bleed for This

If I could think of two things that go together, Miles Teller and boxing movies would not be the first thing that comes to my mind. I loved him in Whiplash but it’s a shame that I haven’t really seen him in any other dramas as he always seems to be in comedies. This may very well work as he plays a boxer named Vinny Pazienza, who after a near fatal car crash, which left him not knowing if he’d ever walk again, made one of sport’s most incredible comebacks. This looks good and might be another Whiplash. If you need any other reason to see it, there’s also a balding Aaron Eckhart. Bleed for This releases November 23rd, 2016.
