I’m a little late on this one but I couldn’t stay silent. This is a big one and I probably didn’t need to tell you that. This movie had pretty much been a mystery until the trailer was released. Anything from acclaimed director Martin Scorsese will be highly anticipated and rightfully so. This is definitely a different story. It is about two Jesuit priests (Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver), in the seventeenth century, who faced violence and persecution when they traveled to Japan to locate their mentor (Liam Neeson) and propagate Christianity. The accents are interesting, especially after Garfield’s accent in Hacksaw Ridge. The movie is nice to look at and the trailer didn’t give too much away story-wise but the music added a sense of urgency made things exciting. I still need a little more convincing. Silence will have a limited release on December 23rd before expanding in January 2017.
