Oh great, another one. They will keep making these as long as we keep buying tickets to see them. The Transformers series overall has been very meh to me. Sure, a few movies is okay but 5 is purely overkill. I’ve seen the movies but I can’t find myself remembering the story of any of them as I constantly get overtaken by the many distracting explosions on screen. Anthony Hopkins is talking in the trailer, narrating some sort of generic origin story but I can’t find myself to care at all. I can already hear the booming sound coming from the theater while watching the trailer. As you can tell, I’m not the biggest fan but I will probably begrudgingly see it when Transformers: The Last Knight releases June 23rd, 2017.

Wait, another mummy movie? While it is still less than 10 years since Tomb of the Dragon Emperor in 2008, this new movie has nothing to do with that series and serves as a remake of the original 1932 movie. The timing is still a little off but I’m willing to give Tom Cruise a chance. Of course there’s a mummy involved somewhere when an ancient princess named Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella) is awakened from her crypt beneath the desert, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia, and terrors that defy human comprehension. The most interesting thing about this is that the movie will serve as a start of a Universal monster movie universe featuring the likes of Dracula and more. I can’t wait to see where that goes. The Mummy releases June 9th, 2017.
