The thing about these long gestating sequels is that they bring up the fact that I have never seen the originals. Yes, I haven’t seen Blade Runner, at least in its entirety. I saw bit and pieces across some film classes in university so I am aware of it. I am curious to see how this will be after 35 years but judging by the trailer, we have nothing to worry about. Director Denis Villeneuve has proven he can handle sci-fi after the great Arrival so it will be interesting to see where he takes this. The trailer doesn’t really give much away other than showing us Ryan Gosling being told by Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) that things aren’t the way they used to be. I will have plenty of time to see Blade Runner as Blade Runner 2049 releases October 7th, 2017.
