What can’t a24 do? The studio behind most of the best movies over the last 5 years now has another with A Ghost Story. The synopsis is: In this singular exploration of legacy, love, loss, and the enormity of existence, a recently deceased, white-sheeted ghost returns to his suburban home to try and reconnect with his bereft wife. While the simple sheet to represent a ghost may seem cheap, it’s actually fitting (no pun intended) as it doesn’t take away from the film’s grounded feel. The characters can’t see it but the sheet helps us to see it. This is a beautiful movie in every aspect and could serve as a welcome change of pace from Spider-Man: Homecoming since they coincidentally release on the same day, July 7th, 2017.
The EIC of the coincidentally-named keithlovesmovies.com. A Canadian who prefers to get out of the cold and into the warmth of a movie theatre.
