Quantico Season 2 Episode 22: Resistance Review

Synopsis: It’s the team last stand against the Collaborators at the Constitutional Convention, where a new amendment to the Constitution threatens every American’s freedom. (IMDB)

Now they had to wait until the constitutional convention for their next move. They had to bide their time and play along but luckily it did not take long as they montaged it along during the first act. We also learned that the team was working in secret at the bar they’ve been frequenting this season (I don’t remember the name). Roarke almost had enough states in favor for amending the constitution but there were still a few on the fence so it was up to them to get dirt on the delegates in order to blackmail them into voting no, or at least that’s what they thought. The team was very careful but apparently they were not careful enough as the collaborators were spying on them the whole time.

Seeing how this season has gone so far, the first plan never ends up being the one they use so now they were onto the next plan. It was one of the collaborators’ technology that spied on them so they figured that he must have some dirt on the other collaborators, including Roarke, so their next plan was to find it and use it. Will and Iris (from last season and who appeared during the opening montage), posed as a couple to try and lure Peter Theo (Todd Alan Crain) back to his room so Will could hack his laptop. On the other side, the rest of the team met up with the Russians (who they were going to use to frame Felix) to give them the information so they can use it on Roarke. Of course they got it.

At the convention, Roarke called upon Clay to gloat. Shelby also ran into Maxine who told her that Clay broke up with her, which was the opposite of what Clay told Shelby. Maxine said that he broke up with her because he didn’t want to tarnish her reputation after what had happened to him. Once the convention started, Roarke began to speak and Alex interrupted him, appearing on a screen and exposed him in front of the delegates. They also leaked all their evidence to hundreds of organizations. Alex then got shot.

It was just a ruse with Miranda shooting Alex and then her waking up in an ambulance with Ryan who didn’t know what was going on. Her next move was to disappear since she was now the face of their operation. Clay visited Roarke to gloat. Roarke was desperate, almost begging for forgiveness but when reminded him of having no way out. Roarke committed suicide after Clay left the room. He then ran into Shelby who called him out on what he did with Maxine. She told him to go back to Maxine.

A few more months have passed with Owen now the Deputy Director of the CIA, Raina and Nimah are free, and Clay and Maxine are married. Shelby and Nimah miss Alex who is on a plane but she is surprised when she is greeted by Ryan who had chosen to be with her.

Overall, this was a great episode and a serviceable series finale if the show were to be cancelled (which is a possibility). It was exciting to watch even though the result was inevitable, of course. The parallels to the current political climate, coincidental or not, just made it more satisfying.
