The Shape of Water
An otherworldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1963. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of silence and isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment (IMDB). There have been plenty of monster movies over the years but looks to be in the right hands of writer/director Guillermo del Toro and its impressive cast.

Boo 2! A Madea Halloween

Madea, Bam, and Hattie venture to a haunted campground and the group must literally run for their lives when monsters, goblins, and the boogeyman are unleashed (IMDB). Yeah, there’s another one.

The Snowman
Detective Harry Hole investigates the disappearance of a woman whose pink scarf is found wrapped around an ominous-looking snowman (IMDB). I wish this one was about a killer snowman but instead features Michael Fassbender as the unfortunately named Harry Hole.

Only the Brave
A drama based on the elite crew of firemen from Prescott, Arizona who battled a wildfire in Yarnell, AZ in June 2013 that claimed the lives of 19 of their members (IMDB). It’s amazing how quickly they dramatize true stories. I’ve never heard of this one but it definitely looks thrilling.
