It seems that every week now – I’m here reviewing a film hot off the festival circuit and well, this week is no different. Today, I’m here to talk about the much anticipated indie dramedy “Brigsby Bear”. A film that even Kevin Smith took to social media to praise in the weeks leading up to it’s release. So the question is, after 7 long months of festival hype, does ‘Brigsby’ live up? Let’s dive in.
This movie has been getting a lot of attention and now we finally have a trailer. Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, and Michelle Pfeiffer and directed by Darren Aronofsky, mother! is about a couple’s relationship (Lawrence and Bardem) being tested when uninvited guests (Harris and Pfeiffer) arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence. Lawrence and Bardem appear to have the perfect life but that would be a boring movie. Out of all the actors they could have cast to be the creepy couple, I would never have guessed Harris and Pfeiffer although it seems like it can work. The trailer was just so darn creepy to watch and I can’t wait to see all the creepiness and these four great actors together. mother! will be released September 15th, 2017.
If you are unsure about this week’s DVD, Blu-Ray, or digital releases, maybe my site’s reviews can help.
