Now all that wandering through the jungle is finally leading somewhere. It took awhile but it’s probably too little too late. The members of the Royal Family are starting to find each other, however, there is still plenty of work to be done.

The episode starts with Karnak and Jen (Jamie Gray Hyder) waking up after their night together. Karnak’s head injury and these new feelings have prevented him from being his usually analytical self. Reno (Michael Trotter) was jealous of their relationship and was preparing to do something about it. He surprised them as they were exiting their tent with a gun. It looked like Karnak may have saved her by deflecting the bullet with his hand but it did not stop Jen from being shot. They escaped, however, reinforcements were on their way.

Each episode has given us flashbacks of the characters and this episode was Karnak and Gorgon’s turn. Gorgon was a screwup that made plenty of mistakes that Karnak felt obligated to fix. Meanwhile, Gorgon was still wandering through the jungle in search of Karnak. The reinforcements were Reno’s boss and his men. Reno told them about what happened and about how he killed his partner. His boss responded by shooting Reno since he didn’t trust those who killed their partners. He then set out after Karnak and Jen.

Karnak tended to her injury and he thought that they should go back to the camp to ambush them. He didn’t see a flaw in that plan but he also couldn’t see any flaws due to his mental state. He felt doubt about his plan so Jen reassured him that it was okay to feel doubt and she believed in him. The camp was deserted so Karnak prepared until the new guys showed up so they hid. Once nightfall came, Karnak took them on quite handedly until Jen burned the cannabis as a distraction. They were clear until their boss took him out. Gorgon saw the smoke from the fire and rushed in to save Karnak and Jen. Gorgon was surprised by how happy Karnak was to see him.

Medusa and Black Bolt were reunited in the last episode and here she told him everything that had happened to her. They had to stop as their trunk hostage was making too much noise (it wasn’t Auran as I thought). They let out another Inhuman named Locus (Sumire Matsubara) who used her power of echolocation to point out that Karnak was nearby. Medusa found her communicator to contact Maximus. He did not let them know that Crystal escaped and he was looking forward to a reunion with Black Bolt. Later on, they were all reunited with Gorgon and Karnak. Locus was wounded and fainted but before she died, she told everyone that Crystal was also on the island.

After the explosion outside Declan’s lab, he was in the process of performing autopsies on Auran and another Inhuman. He was fascinated by what he found. Declan discovered that the two Inhumans shared similar DNA with Black Bolt with each differing slightly. Auran woke up from the table, healed herself, and held Declan’s throat while wanting to know where Black Bolt was. He told her what he was doing for him and that Black Bolt owed him.

Auran was failing at her mission so Maximus called upon Tibor (Ptolemy Slocum), the member of the genetic counsel that he spared, to find some other Inhumans to send down to Earth. After she woke up, Auran called Maximus and he told her to keep Declan alive and that he would send down Inhumans to help her. She called Mordis who was with Sammy and a nature controlling Inhuman. Sammy tried to escape but he didn’t get too far. Auran wanted all of them to come back. Auran’s new plan was to hold the humans hostage and have Black Bolt come to them.

Tibor found that not many Inhumans were interested in joining Maximus’ mission. He shared what the rest of Attilan thought of him and Maximus took it as a personal attack. He then yelled at his father’s statue.

With Lockjaw seemingly cured, it was time for Crystal to go back to finding her family. Audrey didn’t believe Lockjaw’s ability but that didn’t stop Crystal and Dave from transporting without her. Lockjaw transported them where he took Medusa though she obviously was long gong at that point. Dave was amazed and just wanted her to have some fun.

The episode ended with Tibor being confronted by a group of hooded Inhumans who were the resistance against Maximus. They wanted his help.

Overall, this episode still had all the problems that have plagued the series so far with atrocious writing and acting with horrible visual effects but what made this an improvement was the amount of story and character development within the episode. Only 3 more weeks to go.

Score: 4.5/10
