The mysterious Phantom Thread has finally been revealed. What is notable about writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest collaboration with legendary actor Daniel Day-Lewis (I still have to watch There Will Be Blood) is that it will be Lewis’ last film role, or so he claims. Here he plays 1950s London dress-maker Reynolds Woodcock who is commissioned to design for members of high society and the royal family. He appears to fall in love with one of his subjects and this relationship appears to go awry. This looks to be another big award contender to keep us entertained this holiday season. Phantom Thread released on December 25th, 2017.
