The Orville Season 1 Review

I’ve been doing the weekly reviews of Star Trek: Discovery, but another sci-fi adventure series came out this year that peaked my interest. While everything was on their mid-season breaks I was finally able to binge through Season 1 of Fox’s the Orville and compare the two series on how they embody the essence of classic Trek.

This season of The Orville is a fun, entertaining sci-fi dramedy that brings the concept of Galaxy Quest to the small screen. With great characters, lots of comedy, memorable stories and amazing visuals, this series feels more like Star Trek than the real show does. From the topical themes to the obscene humour, this show had me more invested with each episode so I’m going to say it’s worth the watch. Beam me up to season two!

Score: 9/10
