Nominations for the 90th Academy Awards were announced today. There weren’t that many surprises but it was nice to see Logan get a nomination for Adapted Screenplay but another lego movie gets snubbed with The Lego Batman Movie missing out on Animated Feature.

I agree there weren’t that many surprises, but the surprises which were unveiled are downright shocking to say the least. No Best Picture nomination for The Florida Project. This is the voting of madmen, and no nomination for the documentary Jane? – this is just ridiculous.
At least I am grateful that there is no original screenplay nomination for Aronofsky, even though I do think there should be some condition what counts “original” because Get Out screenplay borrows so much from other sources, besides being so flawed towards the end.
