Yet again, another middle-of-the-road episode that tried to do too much.
What looked like a serious situation to start was just Riggs playing with Ben. They were about to make plans when a mysterious car appears outside Molly’s house. Leo invited Murtaugh and Trish to his wedding the day before. A problem arose when his bride to be, a woman named Nina (Shakira Barrera) went missing. Murtaugh took Riggs, who had RSVP’d no, to investigate. She wasn’t there but a dead hitman was. Nina just happened to be a convicted felon who Leo only new for 6.5 weeks.
Murtaugh also found a pregnancy test while emptying the trash and was worried about who it belonged to. While investigating a lead, Leo showed up and make a fool of himself as he always does. As Murtaugh and Riggs were engaged in a shootout, Nina saved Leo from his trouble. At an underground poker game, she had stolen cocaine from a drug lord to support her and Leo and she killed the hitman sent to kill her.
Bailey looked into the strange car and put a tail on Molly for Riggs and when he confronted Molly, she did not take the news well. While investigating the latest poker game, Riggs found Jake’s ring and lo and behold, Jake was there and was in the mysterious car from earlier. Riggs confronted Molly about Jake and she didn’t want to put them in the same situation as before. She eventually told him where Jake was.
Murtaugh asked Trish about the pregnancy test and she wasn’t pregnant which left Riana. Riggs went to see Jake. He just wanted to see his son but he was also back for business which included his own henchmen. When he woke up after getting knocked out, he got a clue about another underground poker game. It appeared that Jake’s ultimate plan was to rob one of the poker games.
Murtaugh and Riggs intercepted Jake in the middle of robbing a poker game. Riggs chased him and they fought until Jake realized that Molly would be better off with Riggs. Later, Murtaugh and Trish confronted Riana about the pregnancy test but it wasn’t hers. The test actually belonged to McNeile’s wife.
After all that, Leo and Nina finally got married at the courthouse before Nina was set to go back to prison.
Overall, this was a decent episode with some fun moments that ultimately got lost in its slightly convoluted plot with Jake coming back and the mystery pregnancy test that took away from what was supposed to be the main plot of the episode which was Leo’s wedding. While the episode did make some headway with Riggs, this season’s endgame isn’t quite clear yet and hopefully over the last 3 episodes, it will become clearer because this last season hasn’t been nearly as fun as the first.
Score: 7.5/10
