Life Sentence Season 1 Episode 7: Our Father, the Hero Review

Synopsis: With Aiden facing a growing problem, he keeps the faith that Peter will keep him out of trouble. Stella struggles with not telling Aiden the truth about who really tipped off the police. Last week’s episode of Life Sentence focused primarily on Aiden and where the charges against him would lead him. It was quite the emotional episode as Aiden’s future lay hanging in the balance while Stella tried to salvage her and Wes’ relationship. This first season of Life Sentence has been enjoyable to watch so far, however, the series has not been renewed and it will all end in just a month’s time. But until that sad day comes, let’s dig into last week’s episode!

As expected, the entire Abbott family came together to solve the crisis Aiden got himself into–with their father as his number one supporter. However, we learn that Paul’s support comes from a place of guilt because he is the one who called the cops on Aiden, to begin with. And although Stella knows this secret, she chooses to keep it from Aiden.

But before Paul’s secret is revealed, all is wonderful in the Abbott, given the dire situation they were dealing with. Even Ida and Paul reconnected momentarily, along with Diego and Elizabeth. However, this was not the case for Stella and Wes, who are still dealing with Stella’s infatuation with Dr. Grant. But I mean, do we blame her?

Aiden is given a plea deal but Paul doesn’t believe they should take it. He is determined to rid of him of all charges but it doesn’t seem like the odds are in Aiden’s favor. He opts to run away on the day of his trial out of fear that he should have taken the deal. Luckily, Stella knows exactly where to find him and convinces him to face the truth, just as he once told her to.

Unfortunately, Aiden arrives at the courthouse a bit too late and Paul tries to convince the judge to give him another chance. And while Paul pleads for his son’s life, Aiden comes forward and confesses to his wrongdoings and gets off relatively easy with just one week in jail and hours of community service.

Amidst all the Aiden drama, Wes and Dr. Grant have a bit of a struggle when they all end up at the bar he’s performing at. Wes notices Dr. Grant making eyes at Stella and confronts him about it. When Wes bumps into him later, he unleashes his anger on Dr. Grant and asks him to stay away from Stella.

Stella may have to make a decision on who she wants to be with–and we have absolutely no idea who she will pick. Any guesses?

It’s sad that we only have handful of episodes left before the series finale of Life Sentence. Unfortunately, the series is short-lived and won’t get another opportunity to continue telling this heartfelt story that I have grown to adore. But until the series finale, let’s enjoy every moment of the Abbott family’s life–because we don’t have much time left with them!
