Now that’s more like it, How to Get Away With Murder!
Everybody is still worried about Gabriel. Connor went looking for him. Michaela wanted to take her mind off of Gabriel by starting a wrongful death suit for Nate Sr.’s death. Bonnie and Nate had to figure out what to do after Miller’s death. Frank was worried and Eve is back for some reason. Annalise wanted answers. Eve interfered with her and Sam after the baby died to protect Annalise. She also had dirt on Gabriel for which they could use if he were to have Sam’s case re-opened. The fact that Annalise tried to adopt Wes/Christoph would make her look suspicious.
While Bonnie and Nate were going over their stories, they remembered that Asher saw Nate with Miller. They wanted him to lie about what we saw but it was going to be though. They planned out everything about Miller’s missing person FBI investigation. Nate would later get some more justice against one of the officers responsible for his father’s death. It was just a ploy to cover up evidence from Miller’s death. Asher found evidence that may prove that Miller was actually innocent, however, what’s done is done. Bonnie still took it hard.
Gabriel would show up to the others’ house to clear the air. He wanted to know the truth about Sam’s death, despite it being a closed case, but he just upset everyone. Michaela asked Asher for some files from Miller which made him defensive, knowing that Miller was dead. Meanwhile, the other were looking into Gabriel and his mother. Gabriel tried to explain himself again to Michaela, however, she wanted none of it. She presented her case to Tegan who was intrigued.
Crawford came over to Annalise’s apartment for help with his misconduct case. He was worried about her. Annalise had a plan to appeal to Gabriel’s love for his mother as a way to keep him off of Sam. There was still some friction between Annalise and Eve seeing that as soon as Eve returned, she would leave again.
The message that Gabriel left to someone about them knowing who he was was to Miller. Nate would tell Annalise what happened with Miller and how they can use for their battle against Governor Birkhead. Meanwhile, the others grilled Asher about Miller who told them that it was Nate who killed him. Bonnie listened to the recording of Miller’s call to the warden on the payphone and it was completely innocent.
Overall, Don’t Go Dark on Me was a great episode of How to Get Away With Murder that finally shifted the focus back on the season-long subplots and all the others that have sprouted from them, including Gabriel and the battle with Governor Birkhead. It was nice to see Crawford and Tegan come back as it has been a while since we saw them last. Now knowing the truth about Gabriel, it is unlikely that he will do much more stirring of the pot. It’s also nice to see that most of the tension has sifted away from the Keating 4 and on to Annalise herself. It will definitely be interesting to see if Bonnie, Nate, and Asher could actually get away with it and if not, how it will affect Annalise. However, it would have been nice to see Eve worked in a little more in the episode. Anywho, we have reached the final third of the season so get ready for things to heat up and for these mysteries to finally be solved, hopefully.
Score: 8.5/10
