How to Get Away With Murder Season 5 Episode 12: We Know Everything Review

Get ready for a bombshell.

Annalise visited Gabriel in prison which worried everyone. She was of course suspicious of his motives in requesting her but he claimed to not have any ulterior motives. He claimed to not know why he was arrested. He told Annalise about Miller’s investigation of her which bore nothing. Thinking that he may be working with the FBI, the plan was to feed him information that would connect Miller’s disappearance to Governor Birkhead. At court, we learned that Gabriel was arrested on questionable terrorism charges. In order to defend him, everyone would have free reign on his arguably shady past.

The FBI put all their cards on the table with Gabriel when it came to Annalise. They knew about how Sam was his father. They were willing to offer him immunity in exchange for working with them. Carver wanted to hold a press conference to put the spotlight on Gabriel’s unjust arrest. Ultimately, they managed to use the cameras placed in Gabriel’s apartment to manufacture a video that implied that the FBI planted evidence. This got the charges dropped but now Gabriel knows about the cameras which did not make him happy.

Nate and Frank looked into Miller’s burner phone history to look for a link with Governor Birkhead while Bonnie tried to look for his friend at the Birkhead’s office. She later visited Miller’s mother who didn’t know much about the situation. It was not a good time for their family. Nate and Frank would eventually find a connection between Miller and Governor Birkhead which was the adoption information that Miller sent to her. This was clearly not good news as it would connect her to Wes who was also Sam’s killer.

Meanwhile, the FBI was interested in speaking to Tegan because of her connection to Annalise who they believed could be connected to Miller’s disappearance. Michaela tried to make nice with Tegan to try and make her less suspicious of them. To persuade her to not talk with the FBI, an anonymous email was sent to her to convince her that they couldn’t protect her.

Annalise put all her cards on the table with Gabriel, hoping to convince him to help her fight Governor Birkhead. He supplied the FBI the tip about the adoption that would connect Miller to Birkhead but Special Agent Telesco (Melinda Page Hamilton) believed that this game was something much more and went much deeper (as the camera panned back from the murder board with pretty much everything on it with Annalise at the center).

Crawford caught wind of the anonymous email Tegan received and questioned Annalise about it and her answer did not seem satisfactory. He was looking into them. Michaela showed Gabriel where the camera in his apartment was. Feeling bad for Miller’s mother, Bonnie convinced Nate to let them find Miller’s body. The FBI may be swooping in on Burkhead but an Instagram photo from Connor’s mother from his wedding showed Nate and Miller arguing.

Overall, We Know Everything was another great episode of How to Get Away With Murder that dropped a bombshell that may change everything. The FBI has been looking at Annalise pretty much since the beginning of the series. Whatever prompted this remains to be seen but it definitely has the potential to do some real damage regardless of where Annalise’s battle with Governor Birkhead ends up. Just like the episode title suggested, everybody knew everything which would of course present its own set of challenges, all except for Tegan and Crawford who could both tell that something is definitely going on. The series consistently keeps its characters on their toes so it will be exciting to see what happens.
