Synopsis: Jake and the squad must track down a hacker who has infiltrated the Nine-Nine’s servers; Rosa deals with relationship issues; Hitchcock and Scully attempt to cook the perfect lasagna. (IMDB)
The cold open involved Hitchcock and Scully tying up the precinct microwave for roughly twenty minutes to cook a frozen lasagna and taking their upcoming meal very seriously. Meanwhile, the precinct was also plagued with computer problems, preventing her to make special plans for Jocelyn. Jake correctly read Holt’s usual lack of expression and saw that he was having a meltdown about their IT situation. One of their sensitive servers, holding confidential information, was being attacked prompting another of Jake’s famed exclamations (which he would also use before every commercial).
Sergeant Knox (Sean Astin) of the cyber division was there to provide assistance as they would have roughly twenty minutes until the hacker got in to the sensitive server. It appeared that their only option would be to find the hacker and stop them. Because of the nature of the server, the hacker had to be somewhere in the building and now it was up to Jake (who had something in his teeth), Rosa, and the others to find them. Amy was at a dentist appointment but there was no way she was going to miss out (experiencing what the others called FOMOOW or Fear of Missing out on Work).
To make things worse, Jocelyn showed up to break up with Rosa. However, Rosa wasn’t going to let her leave before talking with her first. Since Jocelyn was about to leave for the airport, Rosa had yet another ticking clock to contend with (hence the episode title). Meanwhile, the precinct had to deal with countless mean sorority girls who always seemed to know the wrong thing to say. Hitchcock and Scully, who stepped out for some garlic bread, were still worried about their lasagna.
Rosa was still preoccupied with the breakup. Another option was to clear the server but that was only a worst-case scenario as it would mean deleting evidence which could put criminals back on the street. Another roadblock for the precinct was the earlier unruly sorority girls that the hacker released from their holding cells. The experience would be enough to convince Rosa that she wanted Jocelyn back.
Things were looking dire but as they were about to clear the server, Knox was able to track the location of the hacker. However, the room was empty, leading them to believe that Know was somehow responsible, either hacking the server or wanting the evidence deleted. Amy recognized him from a case and Knox was trying to keep her from identifying him. Once apprehended, Knox was placed in a holding cell with the sorority girls.
Rosa and Jocelyn decided to stay together. Hitchcock and Scully’s garlic bread was ruined so they were forced to eat lasagna without garlic bread for the first time.
AND THEY ENJOYED IT!!!!!
