Talk about your all time Oscar bait film.

For a man who has never seen any of the Little Women film adaptations nor read Louisa May Alcott’s book, it’s hard to put this trailer in perspective. So rather than judge it based on prior experiences which will be happening all over the world today, this will be based on what was just seen. Actor/writer/director Greta Gerwig is coming over the one of the best female coming of age movies in recent memory with Lady Bird and now tackling an iconic book, that you can bet any girl over the age of 30 has read.
Talk about a cast, these ladies could be fighting for Oscars come February. Yes, Little Women is based on a piece of literature, so you have to take it with a grain of salt. The cast is incredible, so much talent all in one movie, sharing the screen together, but you can’t help notice the whiteness, and it sticks out like a sore thumb really. Now, why change a book, but at the same time nowadays that will only hurt and stir up some controversy when it comes out. It will probably also hurt the box-office numbers.
But Little Women looks beautiful, it feels like a period piece, the sets the costumes, everything is clicking and again with the amount of talent on screen, that’s already a recipe for success. It’s nice seeing Emma Watson back in the limelight as she’s been absent really since Beauty and The Beast, and it will surely be refreshing to see her among such talented ladies. This will be nominated for a boatload of Oscars, that much is certain.
