A Girl from Arizona, Part 2 was another fun episode that saw Eleanor regain her confidence while Jason got some bad news. It seems like they have things figured out but we know it won't last.

Synopsis: Eleanor, Michael, Janet and Tahani have their hands full when the new residents begin to show their true colors. Jason receives some unsettling news. (IMDb)

The last episode, A Girl from Arizona, Part 1, ended with some good news and this episode, aptly titled A Girl from Arizona, Part 2, saw Eleanor uneasy as it meant dealing with Chidi, who she still had feelings for. The focus here was on the intolerably, self-absorbed, guy you love to hate Brent (Benjamin Koldyke) and trying to get him to listen to others and convince him that he doesn’t belong in the good place.

Eleanor’s first idea was to host a talk show but Brent sounded even more insufferable. Her next idea was to recreate some personalized chaos for Brent which only led him to realize that he belonged the best place. Their recent failures led the others to believe that a chance in leadership was needed. Eleanor did not take this news well. As a result, Michael gave her a well-timed pep talk about why she was perfect for the job (he faked his panic attack to prompt her to step up) after giving Jason some relationship advice which was to have more control over his own impulses (which is kind of true).

Eleanor convinced Brett that there was a best place and that he would have to earn points to get in (like the original points system) so he went about like she used to which was for the wrong reasons. Her next step was to put Chidi and Simone back together under the pretense that they were soulmates (him summoning a book and then it knocking him out later was funny). He later through some philosophy at Simone over some frozen yogurt which seemed to work. Meanwhile, Janet told Jason that they should have a break until the experiment was over. She was already busy enough. Jason was heartbroken.

It wasn’t easy but in the end, Eleanor and the others came to terms with Chidi’s sacrifice, DAT ASS.

Onwards!
