Batwoman gives us the second part of the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover, and it was nothing short of amazing. The past and present of DC come together in the most epic way possible, giving us plenty of feelings to sort out.

It may be difficult to talk about everything that happened in this recap, but we will try our best. The Crisis crossover makes it difficult to contain our enthusiasm and thoughts. After all, it’s the best one we’ve ever had–and may ever get. Before getting into the recap, those who haven’t seen the first part should not read past this point. There will be plenty of spoilers so please be wary of what comes ahead.

Okay, so now that we got that out of the way,  let’s talk all things Crisis, shall we? Part One gave us a lot to think about and mull over namely one very specific moment. After facing off with the shadow demons and trying to save Supergirl’s Earth-38, the heroes are transported to Earth-1 by the Monitor. But Oliver, the last man standing, refuses to leave Earth-38 and ends up sacrificing himself for the sake of billions of other people. Unfortunately, it meant the Green Arrow’s demise, sigh.

As this episode picks up, the group is given a goal of finding seven Paragons, a.k.a the seven individuals that will save the multiverse. After losing Oliver, there needed to be something to take everyone’s mind off of such a huge loss, so it was good to see everyone head off on their individual missions.

We learn right away that Supergirl is the Paragon of Hope while Sara is the Paragon of Destiny, leaving five more to be found. Kara and Kate go off in search of the Paragon of Courage, who they are told is the “Bat of the Future”. As they arrive on Earth-99, we see them come face-to-face with Kevin Conroy’s Bruce Wayne/Batman, but he’s not what he would have wanted from the caped crusader. On this Earth, he’s a criminal. It’s so exciting to see Conroy as Bruce Wayne/Batman on-screen as he been the voice to the animated version for quite some time now. In any case, his cameo is short-lived, but boy, we will never forget it!

It turns out that Earth-99’s Batman wasn’t the Paragon of Courage after all–it’s Kate! It’s unclear as to how that will play into the regular season of Batwoman, considering she’s just met a darker, crueler version of her cousin.

Meanwhile, Clark, Iris, and Lois go searching for the Paragon of Truth, who ends up being Tom Welling’s Superman/Clark Kent from Smallville. For fans of the series, it was new information that Earth-167’s Superman gave up his powers to raise a family. It was kind of funny seeing Jon Cryer’s Lex Luthor show up in Smallville during his “kill all the Supermen” mission only to find this Superman doesn’t give a hoot about any of it.

With this trip being a bust, this takes the trio to Earth-96 where they meet Brandon Routh’s version of Superman/Clark Kent. He is the Paragon they were looking for! There is a brief moment here during which Lex shows up and gets Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman to fight with Routh’s Superman. Thankfully, Iris and Lois put a stop to that STAT.

The other group, Sara, Barry, Mia, and Constantine, are working on bringing Oliver back from the dead using whatever Lazarus Pit they can find (if there is even one left at this point). It doesn’t feel like the greatest plan but they go ahead with it anyway, and naturally, when Oliver does come back from the dead, he’s not actually him. And it’s up to Constantine to bring Oliver’s soul back to him, which he fails to do.

We have one more hour of the crossover left this week, and then will have to wait until January before getting the final two. I don’t know about all of you, but that will be the most difficult month to get through. Especially considering the Harbinger has officially met the Anti-Monitor. Uh oh.
