Synopsis: Upheaval in Washington brings an investigation to Kabul. (IMDB)

The walls are beginning to close in on Carrie during this week’s episode of Homeland as people are starting to notice things and make connections. Whether or not they have any truth to them remains to be seen but Carrie certainly wasn’t interested in waiting around until they found out. Meanwhile, whatever peace plan that may have been made is pretty much gone now.

Two Minutes began with Carrie being disheartened by the news of Warner’s death. Meanwhile, Max was being led by his abductor (his attempt as escape resulted in him getting shot in the back). Also, the newly-appointed President Hayes addressed the nation. The United States had to prepare for potential further retaliation.

Carrie was focused on finding Max, though the priority was elsewhere. The FBI showed up to investigate what may have led to Warner’s death. This set Carrie off to ask Gromov for help out of desperation though in exchange of the temporary removal of the monitoring of the crash site. He would only need it done for two minutes for which she begrudgingly accepted (but certainly wasn’t easy to do). Meanwhile, G’ulom wanted to speak with Saul about Haqqani’s whereabouts left a CIA safe house and was attempting to evade his forces (he was not interested in running away). Saul was also against his plan to round up and execute Taliban soldiers in a soccer stadium. His attempt to get Hayes to try and convince G’ulom to calm down failed miserably when he was convinced that it was a good idea which may indeed destabilize the region once again.

Carried lied to the FBI about her involvement with Warner and her role in Kabul. The microscope on her among the station was back on as the recording of her meeting with Gromov was finally cleaned up. The connection between that meeting and her suggestion that Warner come to Afghanistan was becoming harder and harder to ignore. Carrie was followed once again but that didn’t really work. Mike told Saul about her last meeting with Gromov. Upon hearing the news, Carrie tried to lie to him which he saw through (in a great scene). As a result, he ordered her back to Germany (she didn’t take the news well because Max needed her and it would not look good for her though Saul did not believe she had anything to do with Warner’s death).

As Carrie left for the airport, she saw Haqqani surrender himself outside the embassy (they were surprised to see him). Meanwhile, Max woke up and was chained to a bed. He didn’t appreciate his bad and its contents being pawned off (and have since become long gone).

The episode ended with Carrie skipping on her flight to Berlin because obviously and hopping into a vehicle with Gromov because obviously.

Maybe the Russians are playing Carrie after all? She has been on her own before but there’s just something different about this time.
