Synopsis: John Diggle arrives in Central City with a weapon to help Barry stop the Godspeed War; Allegra and Ultraviolet’s new bond is put to the ultimate test; Joe and Kristin Kramer are hunted by a former colleague of hers. (IMDb)

We’ve finally approached the end of The Flash’s seventh season, and as it has often been the case, it’s lost its appeal. Nonetheless, many Flash fans have been waiting for the highly anticipated arrival of Jordan Fisher’s Bart Allen, and we finally got a quick preview of that at the end of this week’s episode.

But before we get to that, let’s talk about what else went down in “P.O.W.” The Godspeed clones are running around Central City, but we don’t see much of them. In fact, Barry  reveals he was chased by a bunch of them but we don’t see it happen. I’m going to chalk it up to budgetary restrictions, but man, it’s really throwing the show off. The episode’s saving grace, however, is the arrival of Arrow’s John Diggle. He shows up to help Team Flash out with the very specific problem they are having–trying to capture one of the Godspeed clones so they can learn more about what is happening. While the episode’s story arc is blah, seeing Diggle interact with Team Flash, especially Chester, is amazing.

There is some progress on the Godspeed front thanks to the interrogation scene that takes place between Barry and the prisoner clone (Rick D. Wasserman). It’s an intriguing conversation that leads to the reveal of the real Godspeed, August Heart (Karan Oberoi). With all these Godspeeds running around Central City in the present, Barry becomes concerned with what this means for the future and how it might be affecting Nora. When he gets convinced by Diggle to check on Nora, he gets pulled out of the timestream by Deon.

We are led to believe for a moment that Deon might be plotting against Barry, but as it turns out, he’s been protecting Iris. For some reason, she has been phasing in and out of time, and it might have something to do with what is going on with the Godspeeds. By the end of the episode, it appears that things might have worked out as Nora shows up and reveals as much. But with her reveal comes the introduction of Barry and Iris’ son, Bart Allen (Jordan Fisher). Say whaaat?!

And then there was Joe and Kramer who were on the hunt for Adam (Julian Black Antelope). There isn’t a lot of emphasis on this storyline but we learn Adam is immortal, and that this storyline literally only exists to keep Joe in the show. Meanwhile, Allegra (Kayla Compton) and Esperanza have an interesting arc, but it ends with Esperanza dying. And that’s it. After all that buildup of trying to help her out and making her a better person, it’s all very pointless. Sigh.

Sure, this episode did have its moments, but they could have done a much better job. But isn’t that always the case?
