The question always was, red pill or blue pill? I guess Neo has ditched the red pill and gone for blue and that has totally made him forget who exactly he is. A sequel to the mega action blockbuster that shaped how movies were not only viewed but made 22 years ago. The Matrix will stand the test of time and it looks like the 4th installment, The Matrix Resurrections, is taking a ton of plays out of the playbook of the original.

Visually stunning, cued up with White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane, this trailer has just about everything you would want from a matrix trailer. It’s trippy, it’s hard to understand, and has more visually pleasing moments than you can count. Neo (Keanu Reeves) has forgotten all about his past, including who Trinity is (Carrie-Anne Moss) which seems a little odd, but more surprising than anything is the fact he no longer knows that he is the chosen one. There’s a lot to unpack with this trailer, that leaves a lot of questions unanswered, but that’s kind of what you want going into this movie.

The action looks incredible, going back to its roots with groundbreaking camera work with unique sequences and well-choreographed fight scenes. He may have forgotten who he is, but he certainly still has the majority of his powers. It’s just great to be back with these iconic characters, who helped shape popular culture in the late ’90s and early 2000s. Toss in some awesome new additions to the cast, Yahya Abdul-Mateen, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, and Ellen Hoffman, there’s so much to be excited about.

I’m sure The Matrix Resurrections will have a ton of surprises and leave your jaw flat on the floor. Check it out in theatres and HBO Max in the US on December 22nd.
