The First Crisis takes viewers further into Hardin’s story – further than we’ve gone in previous episodes. Hardin has found her way back to Terminus but at what cost? When she can finally land on Terminus, she is greeted by the bodies of her fallen comrades and family. It appears at first as if there are no survivors. She’s also missing one angry Anacreon as Phara has managed to escape which was clearly not something Hardin wanted or needed at this moment.

Meanwhile, the story of Brother Dawn is slowly coming to a climax. Upon being greeted by Brother Dusk and shown the mural that he painted in Dawn’s honor, He realized to his horror that Dusk hadn’t offered him a mural to honor him. He told Dawn through the mural that he knows about everything he has been trying to hide. This gave him no option but to run for his life which he does. But Azura’s plans for Dawn aren’t what he expected as he found himself in dire straits.

Hardin also finally understood the obelisk and what it stands for as Seldon makes a final appearance. One can feel the story for some of these characters is nearing the end and at least for this first season. there’s some good and bad to be had here. While it feels like some characters have been given substantial story lines, it feels like others could have benefited from more screen time such as Dawn. While his story may not be that exciting or action-packed, he is consistently under threat merely for existing with imperfections. Living in constant pressure of the truth being revealed would be a horrible way to live, especially for a young man. One wouldn’t wish that existence on anyone so the writers certainly could have done more in that regard.

In the end, we are close to the final episode of this first season of Foundation and hopefully by then, all will finally be revealed for both Dornick and Hardin.
