Those waiting for the moment for the task force to truly come together, this latest episode of Peacemaker was it. There butterfly problem is indeed bigger than the task force probably anticipated and it was revealed at the end of the last episode that their leader, Murn, is one. What will come of that remains to be seen but this episode may have hinted at that outcome but the main highlight was the task force’s first big mission which was essentially a way to show off the great chemistry of the cast, boosted by some stellar writing. Meanwhile, Auggie attempted to get some justice though his behavior will definitely make it difficult for him. That being said, one can’t help but still feel bad for him even though he’ll likely not remain in prison for too much longer.

As far as the episode was concerned, it started with the task force gearing up for their next mission, investigating a bottling plant at the middle of the butterfly epidemic, but it was really just a means for Peacemaker to keep making fun of Economos and it was hilarious. However, the mission proved to really be a means to bond over rock bands while making way for some more hilarious dialog. Once the mission became, the plan for a cautious approach didn’t last very long as the bottling plant was more rampant of butterflies than anticipated.

Peacemaker’s x-ray vision helmet certainly came in handy in spotting butterflies that were resting in the skulls of their hosts. Seemingly shooting everyone in sight, his approach paired alongside Adebayo, who still thought to get her shots in, was a far cry from Harcourt and Vigilante for whom the former inadvertently triggered a swarm of butterfly workers for whom devolved into what was a zombie mentality. As each pair fought through their respective hordes, they met in the middle with the help of a makeshift rocket grenade just in time to fight a butterfly that had taken a gorilla as a host. Suffice it to say that the combination of butterfly and gorilla made for a formidable opponent but not more formidable than Economos and a chainsaw.

A successful mission changed the overall mood amongst the task force. The van was upbeat and it was fun to watch them have fun before they broke off and left the safehouse to do some more celebrating. The relationship between Adebayo and Peacemaker has been one of the highlights of the series thus far and them just having drinks in his trailer was fun to watch as that time was also an opportunity for her to finally plant the journal like her mother, Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), had asked her to do.

For those wondering what Murn was up to, he was dealing with the Auggie situation or more specifically, a mysterious friend of his for whom he had a past with named Locke (Christopher Heyerdahl). Auggie in the meantime had finally gotten hold of Detective Song (Annie Chang) and Detective Fitzgibbon (Lochlyn Munro) to get them to verify the evidence against him. Despite being a horrible person, Song still had to do the right thing and proved his innocence but little did she know, it wasn’t up to her as Locke got installed as the new police captain and shut it down.

Since Adebayo couldn’t sleep, she went back to the safehouse and found Murn working. Taking Peacemaker’s x-ray helmet, she made the discovery that we already learned. Picking up on it, she ran out of the safehouse with the episode ending with Murn chasing her down. Now if anything were to happen to her…..
