Halfway through this final season of Killing Eve, things are starting to come together and it’s looking fairly promising as a new pairing has sprouted out of nowhere.

After the last episode, it was clear that Villanelle was not going to stay in prison very long as that situation was quickly rectified. She was put back to work but whether or not she will actually fulfill her duties remained to be seen.

Eve was making some real progress in finding the man that Helene was looking for as she appeared to be farther along than the latter and only got closer. Meanwhile, it was only a matter of time until the storylines came together somehow as Villanelle and Carolyn crossed paths in Cuba for whom the latter’s investigation into the Twelve took her. This proved to be a great partnership of sorts that was not only entertaining for Jodie Comer and Fiona Shaw and their dynamite chemistry but was also hilarious across several fun moments where they brought out the best out of one another. Of course Carolyn was in the loop about everything despite her new situation. Suffice it to say that it was fun while it lasted as it was time to move on from Cuba.

Konstantin’s new recruit Pam proved to be a challenge but he seemed to know how to press the right buttons from experience. He didn’t have much of a choice in the matter as he often did, being a mere pawn of the Twelve.

Speaking of great chemistry, the evolving dynamic between Eve and Helene and their battle of wits continues to be a highlight as the chemistry between Sandra Oh and Camille Cottin was compelling yet tense to watch with both women exhibiting a playful relationship as they looked to inquire where the other was while keeping their own cards close to their chest. It’s a game of tennis as the power dynamic between both characters constantly shifts back and forth with each attempting to assert some sort of dominance over the other. In the end, Helene has her fingers on everything which may very well get her in trouble.

Carolyn and Villanelle was the relationship I never knew I wanted and now I want more.
