Hello Losers is a thrilling yet flawed finale that does justice for Eve and Villanelle who see the story through to the end.

So this is the end, the story has come to a conclusion. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that whichever way it was going to end, Eve and Villanelle would surely play a part in it and for that, this finale definitely did not disappoint. Though eight episodes certainly isn’t a lot to do them and the series as a whole justice, it did a satisfying enough job at putting the pieces together while attempting to wrap up the series and the arc of the season but as with most series with large fandoms, it won’t satisfy everyone and that’s fine.

Last week’s penultimate episode saw Eve in danger at the hands of Gunn. However, her newfound resourcefulness got her out of that jam which did not go unnoticed by Villanelle who seemed impressed. That being said, they still had to get over some of their issues in order to move forward. Luckily, they had a bonding moment and those good vibes only continued from there. Meanwhile, Carolyn returned home to enact the next part of her plan as it was like she never left. For the most part, she was just enjoying the moment. Carolyn also got her closure with Konstantin thanks to Pam who she made a fun pair with but the latter had no interest in continuing with her current career path. The three plus Pam ultimately converged as Carolyn handed Eve the reins.

Finding the location of a meeting of the Twelve was one thing but getting inside was another. Nevertheless, they did and the end result was certainly a highlight albeit one that was undercut. However, that was not the end of the story as the bigger picture was revealed which will undoubtedly be the biggest point of contention of this series finale. In retrospect, the pieces were there though they could have been put together in a more concise way. In spite of this, that didn’t make those final moments any less emotional while featuring some phenomenal shots.

At the end of the day, not having Oh and Comer play off of each other every week anymore is going to be tough but they made the most of their last turns. Though their chemistry was once again the highlight of the episode, the end result of their arcs over the past four seasons paid off perhaps more for Oh as Eve here as she comes full circle. Comer was still a blast as Villanelle while Shaw was a stoic force showing cracks of personality which only made Carolyn more human and endearing. However, she’s still Carolyn.

While we are going to miss you, it is clear that Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer are ready to move on to greater things. Each has already done so as the latter made quite the mark last year as her star power continues to rise. If anything, we can thank Killing Eve for that.
