Katagiri is a sneaky guy while Kikuchi as Eimi proves that she is indeed the heart of the series.

Following the nearly-botched meth shipment, Tozawa went about eliminating some loose ends as he and Ishida stayed away from each other. Meanwhile, a month after the raid, Adelstein and Katagiri were not on speaking terms at the moment. The latter was more interested in finding the mole in the police department that tipped Tozawa off about the raid. He had his suspicions.

Eimi was on a personal mission, investigating a series of murders of women in abusive relationships in which the police failed to act on before it was too late. She put Adelstein on it but the appearance of a friend from his past surprised him. As they caught up, he showed a side that we haven’t yet seen from him. He could be himself. Moving on to a club, Adelstein’s attention shifted towards Tozawa’s mistress who also happened to be there. Their chat got cut short by some of Tozawa’s men noticing them talking. In the end, Eimi’s story got buried near the end of the latest newspaper and one can’t help but feel for her because it’s easy to connect with her principles as a reporter.

Samantha’s club was coming along nicely but she would need things to go right in order for it to work. However, her concern was with Polina who had been missing for a week. Meanwhile, Sato has a family who have essentially disowned him for being a gangster, so much so that they refused his help to pay for his father’s medical bills. This was yet another distraction on top of Samantha’s issues.

Polina’s sleazy boyfriend Akira (Tomohisa Yamashita) was a dead end until Sato beat some truth out of him. She was in debt partly due to her support of his lavish lifestyle. Polina merely got whisked away somewhere else where she can pay off her debts. With Tozawa involved, that was as far as he was willing to go. This was his breaking point as far as his relationship with Samantha was concerned. They were done which led her to turn to Adelstein.

Coming off a suspension because of the raid, Miyamoto inadvertently closing the last murder put him in the spotlight. However, his fortunes would turn. Already on thin ice with Tozawa, he fell right for Katagiri’s trap and was exposed as the mole surprisingly easily making for a satisfying scene to end the episode. He’s definitely not going to survive.
