Synopsis

Based on the short story “The Djinn in the Nightingale’s Eye” by A.S. Byatt, THREE THOUSAND YEARS OF LONGING follows a scholar (Tilda Swinton), content with life, who encounters a djinn (Idris Elba) on her travels. The djinn offers her three wishes in exchange for his freedom. Their conversation, in a hotel room in Istanbul, leads to consequences neither would have expected.
