While most are here for Star Wars, Lucasfilm also offers plenty of highly-anticipated releases up their sleeve. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy took to the stage to reveal new trailers, release dates and exciting announcements. With that, lets take a look at everything revealed at the Lucasfilm showcase.

Star Wars

Every year, we expect big things from the galaxy far far away, and this year Lucasfilm did not disappoint.

Andor

First up, we received the final trailer for the upcoming series, releasing its first three episodes September 21. Fans can expect exhilarating action, gorgeous cinematography and stunning visuals. As well as an incredible cast, with Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, and Forest Whitaker returning as Saw Gerrera.

We are already excited for this 12 episode Star Wars series set before the events of Rogue One, but seeing even more footage only skyrocketed our excitement.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2

Next up, Star Wars producer Dave Filoni appeared on stage to reveal the first of his four Star Wars projects. Up first was an exclusive image of season 2 of his Disney+ series The Bad Batch, whilst also revealing that the new season’s release date will unfortunately be pushed back to January 4.

Star Wars: Tale of the Jedi

Filoni then quickly segued to reveal the first trailer of Star Wars: Tale of the Jedi. The series will see six brand new animated shorts set during the prequel era, that follow two very different Jedi, Ahsoka Tano before she was the awesome Jedi we know her as today, and Count Dooku as viewers witness his turn to the dark side. Tales of the Jedi is scheduled for release October 26, on Disney+

Ahsoka

Whilst no new details were revealed to the public, audiences who attended the showcase got to witness exclusive on set images of the series. However, it was revealed a day before the showcase that Eman Esfandi is set to play Jedi Ezra Bridger.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

Filoni then welcomed to the stage Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, the creators of the upcoming live-action series Skeleton Crew, to talk about their upcoming series. All before Jude Law came onto the stage to great fans with a uproar of applause. As of now there is no time frame of when the series will release, but hopefully we will find out soon.

The Mandalorian: Season 3

Finally, we received a magnificent trailer for the much-anticipated third season of The Mandalorian. The cast joined Favreau and Filoni to talk about the series and what the audience can expect from the characters. No release date has officially been announced as of yet.

The series looks fantastic with Mando and Grogu going to Mandalore, many more adorable moments between Grogu and Mando, as well as an unexpected cameo from the great Babu Frick. If we see Grogu and Babu Frick share the screen, it may just be the best moment in Star Wars history. If you weren’t already excited for season 3, you will be after watching this trailer.

Lucasfilm

Lucasfilm revealed a few more projects outside of the Star Wars franchise, which however, doesn’t make these reveals any less exciting.

Willow

A brand new trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series, Willow was revealed with Willow himself Warwick Davies appearing on stage, before joined by his other co-stars. Audiences were excited, shocked and surprised as Christian Slater came up to the stage announcing he will be joining the ensemble cast. Willow is set to drop November 30, exclusively on Disney+.

Indiana Jones 5

The final reveal treated audiences to a short sizzle reel of the much-anticipated sequel, Indiana Jones 5 that sees Harrison Ford return to his iconic role once again. Ford along with director James Mangold joined Kennedy on stage to talk about the film before being joined by Phoebe Waller-Bridge who gave a very moving and emotional speech. Again, no release date has been announced for this project but we can expect it no earlier than 2024.

Conclusion

Wow, Star Wars fans should be extremely happy with what was announced this year. The Lucasfilm showcase only proved that there is no better time to be a Star Wars fan and after the phenomenal Obi Wan Kenobi series we still have so much more to be excited about. Similarly, with news about the upcoming Disney+ series Willow and the much-anticipated Indiana Jones 5, D23 2022 Expo is still shaping up to be a great year for the house of mouse.
