This weeks episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law takes Walters away from her duties as an attorney and focuses solely on her She-Hulk identity, or moreso how she is still struggling with it. Every week thus far Walters has battled with the She-Hulk identity and it wasn’t until last weeks episode that she finally embraced her super hero alter ego, going on dates as the big green and even fighting demons alongside the Sorcerer Supreme, Wong. This week’s episode however, takes the series down a peg in terms of action and wit and genius cameos, which is what most fans tune in to see each week. And unfortunately with less action, comedy and cameos, this episode ultimately falls a little flat.

Compared to last week, this episode isn’t isn’t as whimsical, witty or fun as last week. But it does work great on a grounded level, focusing on Jen’s character and identity crisis more so than anything else, which helped develop her character. Yes, it may not be as comedic, exciting or cameo heavy as previous episodes but this episode is very important to allow Jen grow as a character and embrace the powers she now has to deal with.

As the ending of last weeks episode suggests, this week’s case of the week see’s Jennifer on the other side of the court room as a defendant dealing with a trademark infringement over the use of the name She-Hulk, sent by super hero influencer, Titania. Sure, Jen may not have liked the name at first, but the name has increasingly stuck with her, and to find out someone is using her name for commercial profits, doesn’t exactly sit well with her.

This causes Mallory Brook (Renee Elise Goldsberry) to represent Walters in court much to her dismay, but after the two win the case, Jennifer begins to grow on Mallory and the two start to develop an endearing friendship, even if Mallory still mocks Jen’s outfit.

The B plot of this week’s episode is very entertaining, and where the majority of the fun in this episode sits. We follow Nikki and Pug (Josh Segarra) as they spend a fun day shopping for Avengers merch which turns out to be a cheap knock-off named “Avongers”. This then leads the two to a special clothing designer, who makes custom-made outfits for all superheroes, and after a lot of convincing makes a few for Walters.

While there is no mid-credit scene this week, the final moment of the episode will undoubtedly be shocking and exciting, and we truly cannot wait to see what next week has in store.
