Just Business continued the narrative of Banerjee being his own worst enemy while a battle at the top sees the series go bicoastal.

The theme of this latest episode of Welcome to Chippendales is loyalty which may very well come at a cost as far as Banerjee is concerned. A monster control freak perhaps as a result of a cultural divide, it’ll surely be his downfall as those around him are seemingly just holding on for now. Set up as a battle between he and De Noia, the series appears to now be heading in that direction as it is finally doing something with that divide that was essentially there from the start. The end result was inevitable but let’s just see where it goes first before jumping to any conclusions.

Propping up Otis (Quentin Plair), Chippendales’ most popular dancer, he was clearly being set up for something down the road as cracks were starting to form as Banerjee wasn’t always going to be able to handle his rise forever. The next shot towards him was his absence from the calendar for business reasons rooted in some not-so-subtle racism. This was a real hit to his confidence. The subsequent promotion of the calendar, which was incredibly successful, without him only made it worse. Banerjee’s impulsive behavior this episode which included his acquisition of the means of production of the calendars, a printing press, to take things further, caused some friction here and may also present some issues down the road.

Meanwhile, De Noia’s time in New York City was meant to pitch his idea for a competing club under a different name that was going to be bigger and more elaborate as the current club believed he had abandoned them. However, the power of the Chippendales name was a hard thing to pass up. Finding a lover and also a backer named Bradford Barton (Andrew Rannells), he looked to be set but he still needed Banerjee on board. Ultimately, the threat of competition was enough to force the team-up but as far as the two men were concerned, creating another Chippendales in New York City was the other man’s idea. With Denise going with De Noia to New York City, don’t count on the drama being over for both men.

The final straw, as far as Otis was concerned, was Banerjee’s reaction to him producing his own calendar which unsurprisingly was negative. He was done with Chippendales but whether or not that will last remain to be seen.

Becoming the devil on Banerjee’s shoulder, Ray vowed his undying loyalty to him and put the idea in his head that everyone else should do the same. The last shot of the idea going to his head was a striking one. Nanjiani kills that sinister side here as Bartlett finally has his standout episode while Andrew Rannells is another promising addition.
