As De Noia rises, Banerjee’s downward spiral continues in this latest episode of Welcome to Chippendales. Showing up announced in NYC as a sort of intimidation tactic which was more annoying than anything else. Stemming from the wanting to get away from him, the idea of a tour arose. Meanwhile, Banerjee’s legal troubles at home became more serious and the potential financial hit could put his club out of business. When he should pay close care to his finances, he remained unfazed by it all. Mind elsewhere, his failure to verify the proofs before the printing of his latest order of calendars rendered them essentially useless.

Banerjee’s disregard of his finances when De Noia essentially tricked him into signing a unfavorable contract with him to set up the Chippendales tour without going over the details with a lawyer. This proved to be another move that backfired on him as the latter appeared to be withholding the true financial of the tour. All of his bad financial decisions were not lost on Irene who called him out on them but things changed uncharacteristically after he got her a diamond necklace. Enamored by the fantasy it created, she was now willing to be bad right with him.

Meanwhile, when it came to the lawsuit against him, Banerjee’s lying did not save him. With his business seemingly running on fumes, bankruptcy appeared to be the best option but knowing him, it would mean admitting defeat and failure therefore he was adamantly against the notion. Ultimately, the calendar fiasco was the final straw. Adding insult to injury was Banerjee’s mother learning the truth about what he really did and made sure to share her disappointment in him.

Trying to hold it together in front of his employees, the moment when Banerjee was alone in his office to process all that just happened saw him let all those feeling out which was sad to watch despite not quite feeling earned. The rushed character development as the series has gone on as the plot quickly moves forward towards the finish line has started to temper things a little. Trying to cover so much ground in only 8 episodes was clearly going to be felt at some point and perhaps it is starting to happen now.

One thing for sure is that somebody is going down by the end. The question is just how.
