Paper is Paper sets the table for the finale in shocking fashion and offers not much else as it focuses solely on moving from point A to point B.

From the beginning, it was clear that someone was going to bite the dust and in this latest episode of Welcome to Chippendales, someone very well did. The threat of competition and the walls closing in meant even more erratic behavior and questionable decisions as a means to hold on to whatever power or control the characters have left. With the series seeming to heavily focus on getting from point A to point B, a lot of nuance and character development gets lost at the expense of that as the series aims for key part of the story more so than the moments in between. Nevertheless, that journey was not without its moments but those moments are becoming few and far between as the rushing hurts the overall character development. Regardless, it was also going to come down to Banerjee vs. De Noia.

The end of the last episode saw how prosperous the Chippendales tour actually was as this episode saw De Noia and his gang flaunting it but when it became to Denise, something had to give. She was just getting in the way of him and Bradford therefore officially giving her control of the tour was the best bet as it had plans to expand beyond North America. However, they were no longer the only tour. The insecure pettiness of Banerjee made it impossible for him not to create his own tour but it failed to get off the ground which was merely another hit. His fear of being perceived as a failure essentially drove the final nail in the coffin of the LA Chippendales. In that desperation, he appears to have hired a hitman to murder De Noia while in his New York office, as suggested by his reaction to hearing the news of his death.

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone that Denise did not take the news of De Noia’s death well, making a scene outside of Banerjee’s mansion, while it did not take Irene long to confirm Banerjee’s involvement and leaving him and taking their daughter with her. His troubles only continued there as he found himself the target of an FBI investigation for which he did not help his case but the lack of concrete evidence connecting him to De Noia’s death kept him safe at least for now. Despite this, he didn’t feel so good about his situation and perhaps looked to do something about it.

The death was maybe not that shocking but how it came to be definitely was. Other than that, there wasn’t much else here. As the penultimate episode of the series, something was probably going to happen but it would have been nice to have more time so that moment could have more of an impact.
