I recently was given the chance to talk to directors Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw about their latest film, Gaucho Gaucho. Two directors who made a big splash in the documentary community following 2020’s The Truffle Hunters, a film that landed on the Academy Awards shortlist for Best Documentary Feature, their latest film observes a community of Argentinian cowboys that balance their traditions and lifestyles with the modern world. It is a beautiful film about respecting the environment in order to live off of it. The film world premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival before winning the Letterboxd Piazza Grande award at this year’s Locarno Film Festival. Audiences could watch the filn next when it appears at DOC NYC on November 16th and 18th. Gaucho Gaucho makes its streaming debut December 1st on JOLT.
Watch our interview with Michael and Gregory below. Thank you so much for talking to me about this project. Enjoy our conversation.
