The Kat is finally out of the bag. In the middle of the war between the Harrigans and the Stevensons, a new figure has emerged, one that may potentially disrupt the order and one who showed off a glimpse of her power right away. A part of Harry’s past (and someone Donnie has been trying to reunite him with), she is someone who you do not want to owe anything to but when push comes to shove, you are kind of out of options. Brendan and Seraphina found themselves in jeopardy at the end of the last episode, as Harry raced to try and save them. However, that saga proved to be a more far reaching one as the matter of there being a rat within the Harrigan operation becomes a more pressing one. While viewers should have a pretty clear understanding of who that rat really was by now, there are still a few avenues left to investigate. As the season approaches the finish line, the other subplots are slowly starting to join the frey, including a rather unsettling one that will truly bring the Harrigans and the De Souzas together.

Finding Brendan and Seraphina was not going to be an easy recovery mission as Harry arrived to the warehouse where the attack took place, only to find a litany of dead Moroccans and no Brendan and Seraphina. Not exactly what Maeve had in mind, Richie Stevenson had other ideas. As far as she was concerned, the next step was to start working on damage control with Conrad but even then, her schtick was starting to wear thin. All and all, after what came as distressing news for the Harrigans, the focus became finding who tipped off the location of Brendan and Seraphina to those responsible for the attack. Finding out their location, Harry would have to get more dirty, disposing of more Moroccan gangsters, only to find that they were being held by Mexicans in Amsterdam.

Meanwhile, Alice managed to coax Jan away from the Cotswolds and to a pub so they can speak. Asking her questions that mostly revolved around Harry, the Harrigan forces pulled her out of the pub (after having followed her there), catching on to what was truly happening. Eddie and Gina De Souza cozied up to another as they bonded over their shared circumstances, forming a relationship that slowly leaned towards the romantic. Though she could see what he was trying to do from a mile away, either she didn’t care or was going forward to spite her parents. Eddie, on the other hand, didn’t care about that stuff and was merely connecting to the one person which she had something in common.

Once again, Brendan and Seraphina took their captivity differently. Held by Jaime Lopez (Jordi Mollà), he was hired by Richie to do the deed, not that he needed any more motivation. Holding a grudge against Conrad Harrington for having insulted his father in Las Vegas during a boxing match over 30-years ago (in an incident previously mentioned by Conrad several episodes prior), it would take more than mere money or apologies for him to allow them to go. In the end, this was all a preamble for a show of force against the Harringtons by forcing them to watch Brendan and Seraphina possibly be murdered by a chainsaw live.

A dire situation, Harry would need to call the big guns so he turned to Kat McAllister (Janet McTeer), the woman who had been yearning for his attention for all this time. A private jet flying, high roller, all she needed to do was to make one phone call to Jaime Lopez. However, it would be too late to save Brendan Harrigan, who succumb to the chainsaw right next to Seraphina, as Conrad, Maeve, and Kevin watched. The only problem is that Harry owed her now.

Who is Kat and what will Harry owe her? Will it be good or bad? Only time will tell.
