I was one of the people who thought Mad Max: Fury Road was good but not great. While the story may not have been the greatest, the special effects cannot be disputed. They were the best part of the movie and won a plethora of awards as a result. A new video was recently cut which featured pre-production tests, raw footage, and behind-the-scenes takes of the movie. Here we can see how much it relied on practical effects and stuntwork. From this video, it looks like the movie didn’t need a lot of those special effects and probably would have worked well without them.
