The episode started with Barry’s new marine buddy Taylor (Dale Pavinski) checking in on the potential mission. Barry learned from Chris (Chris Marquette) that Taylor was kicked out of a marine rehabilitation program. He then had a dream of him and Sally then took a bunch of pictures together at a studio with their son. Barry wanted them to start over but she wanted him to figure out his own issues first. Moss passed around a screenshot of the blurry footage of a nondescript man from the murder scene in the hopes of identifying Barry and spoke with some of the members of the class, including Barry.
Moss called Barry’s phone but Fuches answered while pretending to be someone else which gave him an alibi. Goran wanted to call off the hit on the Bolivians because of the heat on Barry, however Hank needed it to happen so he could stay alive. Fuches convinced Goran to keep the hit on. He wanted Barry to work with Taylor and then take him out after because he knew too much. Barry was hesitant until he came to the realization that he had to die.
The list for the Shakespeare festival was out. While they were practicing Macbeth, the play became eerily relevant to Barry and his life. He took offense to the direction of the debate and attempted to defend himself. The class knew he spent time in military and not that he was a hitman. The rest of the class empathized with this but Sally was the only holdout because she was still angry with Barry. Meanwhile, Moss went to Cousineau to hook up.
Barry and Taylor then planned the hit. Barry took it seriously while Taylor was looking forward to killing people. While Barry watched Taylor, he got knocked out. Then we got another dream of Barry and his son. Meanwhile, Taylor took care of the rest of the Bolivians. Just as Barry was about to kill Taylor the scene cut to him and Fuches. He didn’t kill Taylor as he joined them.
Overall, this was a decent episode that featured a more assertive Barry both in class and in his other life. He defended himself in class and took on a partner who could be his escape from his former life. It will be interesting to see what will happen now that Taylor is as deep as he is. How long will he last and will he be Barry’s way out. While that seems unlikely, who really knows?
Score: 7.5/10
