While this week’s episode of iZombie is a bit slow, I did really enjoy seeing Liv on rapper brain and her ridiculously hilarious freestyle raps. Last week left us wondering what is going on with Isobel and how she is immune to turning into a zombie.

Peyton and Liv want to send Isobel home but she refuses to go. She knows her days are numbered and doesn’t see the point in living out her short life depressed about it ending. Meanwhile, Blaine buys Don E a super expensive brain and makes plans to start buying property for cheap around New Seattle.

During one of her freestyle raps, Liv has a vision of the bus killer threatening the victim and his girlfriend. They quickly identify the killer as Ronnie Cain and the city is put on lockdown by Fillmore-Graves as they go on a manhunt for him.

Peyton and Liv tell everyone that Isobel is their neighbor while Liv shows her around the morgue. Major shows up with Ravi’s briefcase which results in a very awkward confrontation between him and Liv. All the while, Ravi, and Clive are deeply invested in a game of D&D when Major shows up. Michelle and Clive finally have an intimate moment when they kiss leaving us to wonder what Clive will do about Dale.

Things take a bit of a dramatic turn when Major and the other soldiers rescue a drunk soldier from the Scratching Post. They learn that Cain stole the soldier’s ID to get into Chase Graves’ office to kill him. We see Cain in Graves’ office holding him at gunpoint as he reveals that he was responsible for the bus crash–and then shoots Chase in the knees.

Liv tells Ravi that she tried to turn Isobel into a zombie but it didn’t work. Ravi believes that Isobel may be immune, and better yet may be the key to finding the cure. She wants Ravi to study her so they can figure out what is going on. However, Ravi learns about Liv taking over Mama Leone’s operation and becomes hesitant about their plan.

Blaine and Don E take the mayor’s life when they turn him back into a human and then kill him immediately after. The video is sent out for all to see while Blaine and Don E celebrate over the money they are about to make. After Cain is found in Graves’ office, the lockdown ends and Chase asks Major to turn Cain into a zombie as Cain is taking his final breaths.

This episode was a bit dull and didn’t feel all that exciting to me. This season’s story feels a bit dragged on and uneventful but Rose McIver is always there to save the day with her hilarious takes on each character she has to play. The idea of a zombie cure is fascinating, if there is one, and how it can be extracted from Isobel to others. Until next week!
