When it comes to crass puppet movies, we only have the Ted movies to rely on but now there’s a new movie to add to that list, The Happytime Murders. In a world where humans and puppets live side by side, when the cast of an 80’s children’s show are murdered, a disgraced LAPD detective-turned-private eye puppet is on the case. The trailer doesn’t give too much away plot wise but the film world looks very promising and the story looks hilarious. It’s just nice to see Melissa McCarthy in a movie that is more suited to her ability. Don’t let the puppets fool you, this is not for kids. The Happytime Murders will be released on August 17, 2018.
