Synopsis: *no synopsis which is probably a good thing*

Writers: David Benioff and D.B. Weiss

Director: Jeremy Podeswa

Rating: TV-MA

Running Time: 81mins

So it finally begins. This entire season has hinted of the threat of White Walkers and now that threat is finally real but more on that later. In order to deal with the threat, first there had to be a meeting between all the parties to discuss what to do about the situation. Of course this encounter meant quite a few memorable reunions and a few characters meeting each other for the first time. For example, Brienne and the Hound, the Hound and the Mountain, and most importantly Jon, Daenerys, and Cersei were a few of these meetings.

The gathering itself went as one would expect, a lot of skepticism by mostly Cersei which didn’t change much after seeing a White Walker up close. Euron (who has been wasted so far this season) walked away as it was one of the only things that truly scared him. Cersei still accepted their truce although she still had ulterior motives by asking Jon to not take arms against her in exchange. He obviously refused so she pulled back. It wasn’t until a great scene between Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey involving a heated exchange between Cersei and Tyrion that she went back in.

Back in the North, Littlefinger continued to pin Sansa against Arya by appealing to Sansa’s ambition but with Jon being who he was and Arya being who she was, this was next to impossible. Called, to the Great Hall, he thought he was there to witness Sansa punish Arya, however, she surprisngly turned the tables against Littlefinger. Now he finally had to face justice for everything he had done. He tried to squirm out of it but instead got a dose of Northern justice.

While deciding on how Daenerys would get to the North, she decided to sail with Jon as it would be a show of unity. Before they left, Theon asked for Jon’s forgiveness. Jon always seemed to know what was right and Theon wanted that for himself but it wasn’t as easy for him. He felt torn between Stark and Greyjoy, however, he didn’t have to choose since he was both. Theon had the courage to save Yara so got beat up and then he beat up one of his fellow people to rally the others to his cause.

Cersei had vowed to help with the war in the North but she had different plans for her and Jamie. While everybody is fighting in the North, she hired to Golden Company and their many mercenaries to fight for her. Euron did not leave out of cowardice, he was leaving to ferry them to Westeros on his ships. Cersei was willing to kill him for trying to leave but ultimately let him go and perhaps further fracturing their relationship.

Sam left the Citadel a few episodes ago but now has arrived to Winterfell to help Jon. He met Bran in a funny scene where he learned about Bran’s new ability. They also talked about Jon’s true lineage where Sam told him that Jon was Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark’s son Aegon. Then it cuts to Jon and Daenerys doing the nastly while Tyrion stands outside with what seems like a disappointed look on his face.

The last scene was at Eastwatch where a large army of White Walkers have arrived at the wall and the Night King, riding his blue-eyes wight dragon, burned down enough of the wall so the army can walk through.

Overall, this was an excellent episode, thanks to its extended running time, that managed to tie up many story lines, no greater than Jon’s true identity. We will have to wait until next season to see what will happen with that. There seems to be an alliance between the Lannisters, Starks, and Targaryens to take on the White Walkers but we’ll see how that goes. We also got some memorable character reunions while some met for the first time, Littlefinger finally got justice and we’re finally seeing some friction between Cersei and Jamie which will be something to remember as the show is coming to an end. There are rumors that next season won’t premiere until 2019, please no.

Score: 10/10

    My internet was out,hence I can’t come. But I m back
I think that 10/10 is too high rating. It was dedicated to tying up loose ends. I loved this episode but there was anythin little of consequences apart from Night King breaking the wall.
    Things I loved
Cersei’s attitude. Everyone almost pissed themselves at the sight of Drogon. Cersei said” You’re late”
Arya killing Littlefinger. So satisfying to watch. I was upset at what was Arya turning into but she is still good. My fav
Night king breaking wall. Finally, Night king has to be coolest villain ever

    Things I hated
Jon and Daenerys: Why jesus why? Was it written by twilight fan girls
Calling Robert’s rebellion a lie. Robert’s rebellion wasn’t based on lies. Mad KIng killed Rickard and Brandon. And It was lyanna’s fault. She betrayed his family and Robert. If she loved Rhaegar, she should have told Robert and her family. She came up like a stupid teenager
I will have to wait till 2019 to watch final season
Any suggesstion what should i watch till then

I thought it had plenty of satisfying moments and the acting was great. I didn’t mind Jon and Daenerys since they’ve been setting that up from when they first met. It was Littlefinger that was the cause of everything and his death was satisfying. Watch Westworld and I think GOT will be back by the end of 2018.

        Yes,

Acting was great. We finally saw acting range of Peter dinklage. I dont know for some reason I hate this idea of Jon and Daenerys. Ygritte was the true love of Jon.

Lets hope that it is back by end of 2018

Dinklage has won 2 Emmys playing Tyrion and I wouldn’t be surprised if he was nominated again. Lena Headey should have won one for that matter. The Jon and Daenerys thing is the show getting ahead of the books. Maybe that’s their destiny in the books too? Who knows?

According to me, Peter Dinklage was underused this season until last episode. I love that guy.
May be u r right but this idea was Jon and Daenerys felt like a fan service to me.
Also, there was reunion between Arya and Gendry. it was something that I wanted but there wasn’t even a mention of it. Gendry didn’t even enquire about Arya. It would have been awesome if Jon legitmised Gendry. Twice Stark baratheon alliance have failed. Finally, Robert’s wish would have been fulfilled

It can’t do everything and even if it did, it still wouldn’t be enough for some people.
