Classic Review: Central Intelligence (2016)

Since I’ve started this site, I’ve written a lot of reviews. In case you missed some of my earlier ones, I would like to share an older review of “Central Intelligence” which originally appeared here.

Central Intelligence Early Review

Bullied as a teen for being overweight, Bob Stone (Dwayne Johnson) shows up to his high school reunion looking fit and muscular. While there, he finds Calvin Joyner (Kevin Hart), a fast-talking accountant who misses his glory days as a popular athlete. Stone is now a lethal CIA agent who needs Calvin’s number skills to help him save the compromised U.S. spy satellite system. Together, the former classmates encounter shootouts, espionage and double-crosses while trying to prevent worldwide chaos.

Central Intelligence Clip Explosion *Spoilers*

If you would like to read my thoughts on the first trailer of Central Intelligence, click here. Similar to my clip explosion of Me Before You which you can see here, I now have 6 clips of Central Intelligence to share with you today. When it comes to the film itself, I am not that much of a fan of Kevin Hart. He’s a funny comedian but I haven’t really liked any of his films so far. It always seemed to me that he plays the same role in every movie, the loud, crazy, obnoxious guy who acts along a more serious guy to try to balance things out. Central Intelligence doesn’t seem to be much different. Maybe a pairing with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will make things better? Who knows? Central Intelligence releases June 17th, 2016.

Movie Trailer Roundup

Central Intelligence

Get ready for more Kevin Hart reacting to things. I’ve always found that the comedy in most Kevin Hart movies consist of him reacting to different situations. He usually plays a more outrageous role along with a straight man to balance him out. I’m not sure which one he plays in his new movie, “Central Intelligence”, where he plays an accountant who gets lured into the world of espionage when he reunites with an old high school friend named Bob played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson who now happens to work for the CIA. Bob used to be bullied in high school so he joined the CIA because he hates bullies. I have to say that they seem to both have great chemistry and the trailer had some funny moments. Unlike other Kevin Hart movies, his character so far didn’t seem too outrageous so this one might be a better one. Central Intelligence releases June 17th, 2016.
