In 1863, Mississippi farmer Newt Knight (Matthew McConaughey) serves as a medic for the Confederate Army. Opposed to slavery, Knight would rather help the wounded than fight the Union. This one is a special edition of “Clip Explosion” as it features clips of 3 movies coming within the next 2 weeks, “Finding Dory”, “Independence Day: Resurgence”, and “Free State of Jones”. I’m very excited for all of these movies and I hope I won’t spoil too much of them in posting these. Of course you can all expect reviews in or around each of their release dates.
The Free State of Jones is a story about about a Southern farmer named Newt Knight (Matthew McConaughey) during the Civil War who led a rebellion against the Confederacy. This is a very epic-looking film with your Civil War army battles and good old-fashioned southerness.
