Classic Review: Hardcore Henry (2016)

Since I’ve started this site, I’ve written a lot of reviews. In case you missed some of my earlier ones, I would like to share an older review of “Hardcore Henry” which originally appeared here.

Hardcore Henry: Magic Edition

Hardcore Henry was a pretty imaginative movie thanks to its dazzling use of first-person perspective, almost making it feel like a video game. The world of Harry Potter is also imaginative. If you ever wondered what it would be like if those worlds ever came together, it might look like the video below. The Youtube channel PistolShrimps have made a short video entitled Hardcore Henry: Magic Edition. In the video, a young wizard named Henry is about to embark on a journey to the Hardcore School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This video pretty much follows the same general story of Hardcore Henry but instead features more magic and the such. It was definitely exciting to watch and I would see a movie like this if it were ever made.

Hardcore Henry Review

A man wakes up in a Moscow laboratory to learn that he’s been brought back from the dead as a half-human, half-robotic hybrid. With no memory of his former life, a woman named Estelle (Haley Bennett) who claims to be his wife tells him that his name is Henry. Before she can activate his voice, armed thugs storm in and kidnap her. As Henry starts to understand his new abilities, he embarks on a bloody rampage through the city to save his spouse from a psychopath named Akan (Danila Kozlovsky) who plans to destroy the world.

Get Out of the Gutter (Hardcore Henry Trailer)

If you ever played a first-person video game and then thought to yourself that you would rather just watch. Your time has now come thanks to a new movie called Hardcore Henry, an action/sci-fi film told exclusively from the first-person perspective of a man named Henry. Henry, now resurrected from the death and has no memory, must discover his identity and save his wife from a warlord with a plan to bio-engineer soldiers.I am a big fan of stories involving silent protagonists since I am a fan of the Half-Life series (shoutout!) and if you’re a fan, then maybe you’ll like this too. Don’t worry, there are other people in this too to hold you over, who also happen to talk. Hardcore Henry releases April 8th, 2016
